Bot-proof your website.

If you're here, I'm assuming you already know how to code a mailto:yourname@yourdomain.com hyperlink to receive e-mails from your website. Unfortunately, that can lead to spam, as bots crawl the net looking for something@something.something patterns to populate databases of e-mail addresses.

A friend of mine gave me a really great tip the other day. He's got all his e-mail addresses on his site coded in ANSI. Used most often to represent foreign alphabets, accents, umlauts and the like, pretty much every character that exists has a corresponding ANSI code. In November of 2003, I went through my entire site and coded every e-mail reference in ANSI. What can I say? I'm paranoid.
